ReplyDeleteThe article under discussion is monarchy and marriage Harry and Meghan. The author of the article is Rocane Gay. The article under discussion is devoted to the problem monarchies and the impact of Harry and Meghan marriage on the monarchy, the reasons for their departure and what would have happened if they had stayed. Many people fantasize about Royal life, but when you look through the obscene wealth, pomp and circumstances, day after day seems absolutely miserable. There are so many strict rules and so little room for individuality or humanity. Marrying a monarch is incredibly expensive. The author also added that a few moments there was hope that the monarchy could speak to a much broader range of people and in so doing, change. There is a very interesting article that tells about Royal life and the desire to avoid the limitations and difficulties of the monarchy.
The article I’m going to give a review of is taken from "The New York Times”

Netflix has made a documentary film "Harry and Meghan" which tells about the life of the prince and his wife of non-royal blood. In this documentary the Duke and Duchess of Sussex share intimate details of their lives, from their courtship to giving up their royal duties and privileges and moving to California to raise their young family.
Though Liz Garbus is credited as director, the Sussexes were clearly in control, at all times. It is also said that they are faced with the problem of racism. But their immense privilege could not shield them from it, This ultimately ruined their relationship.
The author also assumes that the Sussexes agreed to this film because they needed money.

They were saving their lives and preserving what peace of mind they could salvage from the wreckage of the almost three years they spent trying to solicit support from the royal family.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the second son of King Charles III and the late Princess Diana of Wales, have been the subject of intense media scrutiny ever since their relationship became public in October 2016.
ReplyDeleteIn the docuseries “Harry & Meghan“, the second instalment of which was released this week on Netflix, the couple attempts to take back control of a narrative that they allege has been controlling them.
It is the inner workings of the relationship between the royal family and the British press that Harry and Meghan set out to expose in this docuseries, and they don’t simply aim to make the existence of this unwritten contract public knowledge.
The couple claims that the royal family has used its influence in the media to the unequal advantage and disadvantage of different family members for personal and political reasons.
Through the course of the series, the couple makes a number of incendiary claims, one of which is that different royal press offices, each dedicated to a separate senior member of the family, would routinely bribe an outlet not to publish a story about their “principal” by providing the outlet with a separate “brief” about a different family member.

They wanted the royal family to embrace Meghan’s role in Harry’s life and to use it to the crown’s advantage. Instead, the family did the exact opposite time and time again.
