3) it is necessary to do everything that you internally like, even to deceive yourself, but in the context that you do it for your own pleasure, and not for the sake of a reward.
1. Generelly, most people don't like to work hard. Some do, but they work hard only to achieve some end goal.
ReplyDelete2. Because of the way the dopamine relates to our perception of time, working hard at something for sake of a reward that comes afterward can make the hard work much more challenging and make us less likely to do hard work in the future.
3. An experiment was done in nursery school and kindergarten. Firstly the children like to draw pictures, then they started to give them reward for drawing, bit after a while they stopped to do it. And the found that the children had a much lower tendency to draw on their own.
4. We shouldn't spike dopamine prior to engaging in effort, we must learn to spike our dopamine from effort itself. For that we must focus on our effort, not reward and do what we like for our own plesure.

1. In general, individuals dislike working hard. Some do, but they put forth a lot of effort just to get there.
ReplyDelete2. Working hard at something for a reward that comes later might make the hard work much more difficult and make us less motivated to perform hard work in the future because of the relationship between dopamine and our perception of time.
3. A study was conducted in kindergarten and nursery school. The kids used to enjoy sketching pictures at first, and when they started receiving rewards for it, they eventually quit. The researchers also discovered that the kids had a far lesser propensity to draw on their own.
4. Before engaging, we shouldn't increase dopamine levels.
