1-His adopted name was Sidney Reilly. He was actually born Sigmund Rosenblum in Odessa in 1874. He ended up in 1925 in the hands of the Cheka, the Bolshevik secret police, but the circumstances of his death to this day remain a mystery. What is certain is that his exploits as a British secret agent were the stuff of legend, and that, even in an age top-heavy with espionage fact and fiction, his story cries out for dramatization.

4-There Sidney Reilly worked a series of odd jobs; on plantations, road construction, as a dockworker, but he got his big break while working as a cook for a British expedition into the wild. He was masquerading as a Brazilian named Pedro, and saved many of the group’s lives during an attack by a native tribe. Sidney Reilly, the erstwhile Russian double agent who was operating on Britain's behalf, were involved in the formulation and execution of various attempts to snatch both Russia and the [Romanov family] from the Bolsheviks.
5-The series was inspired by a book of the same title by Robin Bruce Lockhart published in Britain in 1967. Universal Pictures instantly took an option on the story and planned to make a feature film with Laurence Harvey as Reilly.
