  1. 1.Peel-to remove the skin of fruit and vegetables Ex:Could you peel the carrots?
    2.Slice - often thin, piece of food that has been cut from a larger piece. Ex: slice of bread/cake
    3.Dice- a small square piece of something. Ex: Cut the potatoes into small dice.
    4- Stir- to mix a liquid or other substance by moving an object such as a spoon in a circular pattern. Ex:Stir the sauce gently until it begins to boil.
    5- Simmer - to cook something liquid, or something with liquid in it, at a temperature slightly below boiling. Ex:Leave the vegetables to simmer for a few minutes.
    6-Deep fry - to fry food in a deep pan in which the food is completely covered by oil.
    7-Roast - to cook food in an oven or over a fire. Ex:Just roast the chicken in the oven and baste it in oil and lemon.
    8- Sprinkle - to drop a few pieces or drops of something over a surface. Ex: Sprinkle a few herbs on the pizza.

  2. 1.Peel means to take the skin off some fruit or vegetables.
    2.Cut...into means to cut sth. into several pieces.
    3.Halve is an efficient way to say "cut sth. into two pieces".
    4.Chop means to cut sth. into medium-pieces.
    5.Dice means to cut into small pieces.

    Cut - to break the surface of something, or to divide or make something smaller, using a sharp tool, especially a knife: to cut a slice of bread

    Sprinkle - to drop a few pieces or drops of something over a surface: sprinkled some sugar on top of the cake

    Roast-to cook food in an oven or over a fire: I roasted the vegetables with some olive oil.

    Stir-to mix a liquid or other substance by moving an object such as a spoon in a circular pattern: Stir the egg yolks into the mixture.
